8 8th Street

A look at the new economy through the lives of three couples. The six friends met via their first apartment, 8 8th St., a two-family home in New Providence, N.J. They met in their twenties and kept a friendship that has lasted more than 30 years. The story spans several states, varied careers, births, adoption woes, college tuition, weddings, funerals, bouts of unemployment and fresh beginnings. The six have often vacationed together, with kids in tow, renting one large home in the Outer Banks. The blog will examine the relationship of the six and how rare it is for three couples to like each other. One couple has moved from Lake Forest, Ill., to Yarmouth Port, Mass., to open a bed and breakfast. They bought the property in a short sale and are making a big bet in a shaky economy. This blog may form the basis for an e-book.
