The six friends met via their first apartment, 8 8th St., a two-family home in New Providence, N.J. They met in their twenties and kept a friendship that has lasted more than 30 years. The story spans several states, varied careers, births, adoption woes, college tuition, weddings, funerals, bouts of unemployment and fresh beginnings.
